8 o’clock in the morning and I have never woken up in a nicer way: The tower of the St. Nikolaus church\u00a0in Baja does not ring as loud as other churches do (what I do not like at all), no, it plays a nice and calm song. I have never experienced something like this before. I would really like to start every day this way.<\/p>\n

Today the discovery tour continuous and we plan to try dragon boot as well as the famous fish soup of Baja. But beforehand we are going to the nice old town where I get some ice cream straight away. This early right after breakfast? Yeah, why not. After an extensive city stroll by glorious sunshine the dragon boat tour finally starts \u2013 pretty convenient right beside our accommodation on the Pet\u0151fi-Island. You do not know how a dragon boatlooks like? Well, neither did I before. It reminds me a bit of a mixture between a small viking boat and a huge canoe for numerous people. We are sitting in the boat with family and their friends and are paddling along the calm Sugovica which is an arm of the Danube. Rita tells us a bit about herself, the surrounding and Baja. Wow,if everyone is paddling we reach top speed! Very impressive and exhausting, of course we have sore muscles on the next day.<\/p>\n

Back on mainland we are going to restaurant Sobri where we are invited to finally try the famous fish soup of Baja. We hardly can wait any longer: WOW! We are served fresh catfish and carp together with a spicy paprika tomato soup and noodles. Very delicious! Now we understand why everyone in Hungary is so enthused about it. Another gastronomic highlight during our stay in Baja was the Riverside restaurant right at the promenade. Here we unexpectedly find authentic Italian food with fresh and high-quality ingredients, and besides very fair prices. We are delighted!<\/p>\n

In the end I spend a few days in the library which used to be a synagogue and write travel stories, also this one here. Best thanks to Dora, both Ritas and Peter, who have organized an amazing stay for us. Baja <\/a>is really worth to be visited!<\/p>\n
