Matthias at St. Patrick's DayI wish I was Irish! I was living in Ireland for some time and fell in love with this country. The people, their mentality and hospitality, their culture, history and heritage coupled with their pride to be Irish. The whole package differentiates this country from other countries and people in the world.

Ireland: Friendly people, no rush, no stress – a welcoming atmosphere. Isn’t this something everybody desires when visiting or settling in other countries!? I was living next to Phoenix Park to the West of the city and was working for Ireland’s biggest private tour operator – Abbey Tours, which had its large office building just next to the River Liffey in the middle of the city. Next to it, the Brazen Head – Ireland’s oldest Pub – in which we met every Thursday for after work drinks.

Especially during the summer months, my flatmate Rafal and I, hosted numerous couchsurfers from all over the world. I explored a lot of sights and spots within and outside Dublin, celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in Irish style, made some road trips across the island and discovered Northern Ireland as well.
